Join us for this engaging webinar featuring leaders in Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) as they discuss different types of MIH programs and the services they provide. 

Hear their perspectives on how MIH is shaping healthcare delivery, expanding access to care for vulnerable populations, and improving health outcomes. 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this program, attendees will be able to:

  1. Describe various Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) models including Hospital at Home (HAH) programs and the types of home-based services they provide.

  2. Discuss the benefits and challenges of MIH and HAH programs, including positive patient outcomes, scalability and their role in alleviating system-wide healthcare burdens.

  3. Identify key roles Nurse Practitioners can play in delivering care within MIH and HAH models, and examine workforce challenges related to expanding these programs.

Chris Malagirda
Chris Malagirda DNP, MBA, FNP-BC

Senior Director and Chief Operating Officer
instED

Chris Malagrida is the Senior Director and Chief Operating Officer for instED. She drives the assessment, design, and end-to-end process improvement of the Care Delivery Network and Clinical Resource Center, and oversees daily operations. She has over 15 years of clinical and operational leadership experience steering complex process and quality improvement efforts that achieve strategic priorities to advance organizations. Prior roles include the Executive Director of Performance Management in Ambulatory Services at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and the Chief Operating Officer at North Shore Community Health, a federally qualified health center. She is also a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and former primary care provider. Chris holds a DNP and MBA from Johns Hopkins University, a BSN and MSN from Columbia University School of Nursing, and a BA in Psychology from Saint Michael’s College.

Jen Femino MBA, MSN, FNP-BC

Senior Clinical Operations Specialist
Maribel Health

Jen has over 20 years of healthcare experience working with Federally-Qualified Health Centers, Mobile Integrated Health, Hospital at Home, and Urgent Care at home. As a Family Nurse Practitioner and skilled Operations Leader, she has extensive experience leading clinical operations as well as managing the growth and scale of direct patient care programs. Jen is passionate about providing innovative, high-quality care to underserved and medically complex individuals. Jen is a Senior Clinical Operations Specialist at Maribel Health. Prior to joining Maribel, Jen served as the Head of Operations for instED, LLC, a company providing on-demand, urgent care in the home via a Mobile Integrated Health model. Prior to her work at instED, Jen spent almost 15 years serving as a Primary Care Provider and Clinical Leader within Federally Qualified Health Centers in Massachusetts and Washington, DC. Throughout her healthcare career, Jen has had the opportunity to lead and support various technology initiatives, including Electronic Health Record implementations and a technology platform build.

Karen Host
Karen Host MPH, EMTP

Executive Director, Mobile Health Services
SmartCare/Cataldo Ambulance, Inc.

Karen Host is the Executive Director of SmartCare at Cataldo Ambulance Service, where she leads the Mobile Healthcare service line, overseeing Mobile Integrated Healthcare, Vaccination Clinics, and Wellness Programs. Since December 2010, she has served as Senior Clinical Director at Cataldo Ambulance Service, overseeing clinical operations for 911 and interfacility transportation across 19 Massachusetts communities. In this role, she has been responsible for setting clinical and operational policies for a workforce of over 1,500 practitioners. Karen was also the Senior Program Director for Cataldo’s SmartCare product line, which launched the first licensed Mobile Integrated Healthcare program in Massachusetts. Additionally, she played a key role in Cataldo’s COVID-19 response, partnering with state and local agencies to provide testing and vaccinations at high-profile locations.
